Vice President, Project Engineer
Scott has been with J&A since August of 2003. Throughout his career, Scott has been involved in Transportation and Traffic engineering and design from preliminary feasibility studies to multi-lane widening projects. He has worked on simple intersection improvement designs, traffic signal design and operating plans, interstate widening and interchange improvement projects, resurfacing plans, etc. Scott is involved in the day-to-day management, engineering and production of every transportation project with which the J&A team is involved. His experience includes hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, traffic control, erosion control, signing and striping, and drainage design. Scott has also performed Traffic Studies and Traffic Impact Analyses.Through his years of experience and the variety of clients with which he has worked, Scott can determine a prompt, effective and cost efficient solution to almost any Transportation or Traffic problem. He has worked on projects for numerous municipalities and counties throughout Alabama, in addition to projects for the Alabama DOT, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Arkansas Highway Department, and Tennessee DOT.
Project Experience
I-65 Widening in Warren County, KY
Contract plans design for Interstate Widening and Rehab project whichincluded rubblizing four-lanes of existing concrete pavement with a bituminous overlay, and adding a lane in each direction. Future design for an ultimate eight-lane interstate facility was included. Approximately 3 miles of this project was a bifurcated roadway.
Bridge Replacements
Numerous bridge replacement projects including AL SR 65, AL SR 71, AL SR 117, among others.
MPO / City Projects
Numerous widening and improvement projects in Alabama for Huntsville, Montgomery, Madison, Anniston, Phenix City; Decatur, Florence, and others. Projects include US 431/Dug Hill Road Intersection, Perry Hill Road, Balch Road, Gillespie Road, Old Monrovia Road, and many others.
SR21, Talladega County, Alabama
Scott was responsible for Grade and Drain Plans, Base & Pave Plans, Right-of-Way Plans and Design Coordination with the ALDOT Central Office and 4th Division Office. The project was a rural widening project of an existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane, 64' Depressed Meridian Facility. Three Contract Plan Assemblies were required on this 12-mile stretch of improvements. The project limits were from South of Kelly Creek to South of Oxford.
US231, (Memorial Parkway), Madison County, Alabama
Scott was responsible for Construction Plans, Traffic Control Plans, Right-of-Way Plans, Hydraulic Design, and Project Coordination with the ALDOT Central Office and 1st Division Office. The project was an Urban widening project from a six-lane Depressed Median Facility to a four-lane Mainline, four-lane Service Road with Auxillary Lanes in each direction. This complex project involved the reconfiguration of the Martin Road/Memorial Parkway Interchange.
SR53, Limestone County, Alabama
Scott was responsible for Design, Preliminary Right-of-Way Plans, Traffic Analysis and recommendations at teh I-65 Interchange. The project was a rural four-lane Project on New Location a distance of 5 miles from CR117 to I-65.
Martin Road at the Redstone Arsenal, Madison County, Alabama
Scott was responsible for Contract Plans, Traffic Control Plans and Project Management. The proejct involved the 3-mile widening of an existing Two-lane Facility to a four-lane roadway. There were two phases of this project- From Patton Road to Gate 1 on the Arsenal and From Gate 1 to Memorial Parkway. The new four-lane facility utilized both a 40' Depressed Median and a Constant Width Median Barrier Section.
SR65, Jackson County, Alabama
Bridge Replacement Project on new location over Larkin Fork involved 1 mile of roadway Approach design, and included some improvements at the county road intersection. ALDOT 1st Division was the Project Lead Agency.
