Nathan Johnson, P.E., P.L.S.

President

Nathan Johnson has served as President of Johnson & Associates since 1989. He has experience on a wide range of projects including residential and commercial site developments, boundary and topographic surveys, as well as transportation projects. He has worked on various federal, state and local government projects. Member American Society of Civil Engineers, Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors, Rotary International. Mr. Johnson was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors for the State of Alabama.

Stephen L. Walker, P.E.

Senior Construction Administration Engineer

Steve Walker manages the Construction Engineering and Administration section of the company where he provides statewide on-call Construction Engineering and Inspection services for Alabama Department of Transportation. Mr. Walker retired as Senior Engineer from The City of Huntsville, Alabama with 25 years of service. During his time with the City he managed numerous public improvement projects including roadways, bridges, commercial and residential developments. He was also the Lead Engineer in the creation of several City programs such as the Bridge Inspection Program, Sidewalk Construction Program and the Sidewalk Maintenance Program. Member American Society of Civil Engineers, American Public Works Association, Chi Epsilon Honor Society, AL Utility Contractors Association.

Bruce Crane, P.L.S.

Survey Department Manager

Bruce Crane has fourteen years of land surveying experience including field work for boundary and topographic surveys, office processing of surveys, and management of the Survey Department. He has experience operating total stations, data collectors, automatic levels, drones, and GPS receivers. He has performed courthouse record searches on multiple projects in many counties in Alabama and Tennessee.  He has prepared dozens of Boundary & Topographic Surveys, Subdivision Plats, ALTA Commercial Surveys, and Base Surveys for various projects ranging from NASA remediation projects, high schools, road widening jobs, hotels, hospitals, and residential subdivisions. He has performed construction staking for various projects in North Alabama, including preparing the office stakeout and data processing. He has prepared as-built/record surveys on many sites and determined volumes for construction quantities. He has experience on a wide range of projects including both office and field services. He is experienced with AutoCad Civil3D, StarNet least squares adjustment software and other software programs necessary to process and adjust our field collection information.

Jarrod Rowland, P.E., P.L.S.

Senior Project Manager

Jarrod Rowland is a dual-licensed professional engineer and professional land surveyor with Johnson & Associates, where he has served in a key leadership role since 2016. He brings extensive experience managing a wide range of civil engineering and land surveying projects across Alabama and Tennessee. Jarrod is known for prioritizing proactive client communication, delivering practical in-field solutions, and blending innovative engineering design with reliable, proven methods. His dual licensure allows him to seamlessly integrate engineering and surveying expertise, consistently delivering projects on-time and with client satisfaction.

Daniel DuBose, P.L.S.

Project Manager

Daniel DuBose is a Partner at Johnson & Associates, where he has been delivering technology-driven surveying and engineering solutions since 2020. A Huntsville native, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama (2021). His expertise includes boundary and topographic surveys, LiDAR drone data collection, construction stakeout, and project engineering. Daniel is committed to delivering exceptional results and products for clients in land development, construction, and infrastructure. As a Partner, he leads field-to-finish operations, mentors younger team members, and helps shape the firm’s adoption of advanced surveying tools—all driven by a goal of helping clients build confidently on accurate, reliable data.
